I guess it could be based on real life interaction mostly. In the community it should be just like everyone should know everyone else where there is emotional bonding between the two or more.
As for bonding, it would feel like intimacy but in a way you can listen closely to the other person and solve their problems. When you bond closely with someone, you are solving a problem of loneliness in this modern society where we are all glued to our phones.
